SCHOOL & COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

Both John Britton and Hilary Elliott have wide experience in running workshops in schools, with pupils or with teachers, and in community contexts.

Drama in The Classroom – Drama & Dance workshops for any age group from Preps to final year students. These workshops give students the skills and confidence to tell their own stories in safe and empowering ways. They explore a variety of approaches to narrative and group work based on the belief that everyone can perform if they are given a positive environment to work in and explicit permission to take risks.

The Creative Classroom – A Professional Development package for teachers at any level of the education system. The workshop offers tried and proven strategies for involving your pupils in making their own drama and dance. It encourages teachers to accept that teaching is inherently creative and that if they liberate their creativity, they can enrich every area of the curriculum. These workshops are for general classroom teachers and for specialist drama/dance teachers. These workshops, when run with a whole school staff, offer a great chance for team building in a fun, supportive and enriching environment.

Performing For All – Quiddity Theatre has run workshops across a whole range of community contexts; youth theatres, play-schemes, women’s theatre groups, Special Needs groups, integrated able bodied/disabled performing groups. The work starts from simple strategies to empower and boost the confidence of participants, and ends in superb and surprising places. Everyone can perform. Everyone can surprise themselves. Quiddity Theatre has ten years experience helping people learn how.

All Quiddity Theatre’s workshops are individually tailored to the specific needs of the organization or individual booking the workshop. If you’d like to know more about the company’s School & Community workshops, please contact us.
