Workshops & Residencies

John Britton and Hilary Elliott are highly experienced teachers, facilitators and community artists. Working together or separately they bring their unique style of making performance to diverse communities, empowering participants in the creation of their own work.

They have worked in schools, with youth theatres, special education groups, women’s groups, tertiary students, emerging and established performance groups and with open access community groups. This work has ranged from single workshops through to extended residencies – the latter frequently leading to the creation of new pieces of community performance with lasting benefits for participants and their communities.

John Britton and Hilary Elliott have worked extensively with the Victorian Arts Centre’s Education programme and for the Melbourne Royal Women’s Hospital Mental Health Programme, as well as running residencies in schools as part of Quiddity Theatre’s commitment to community development.

Quiddity Theatre is always willing to discuss workshops and residencies with promoters and community organisations, believing in the ability of theatre to revitalise communities and empower individuals.
